The International Hornfestivalfrom June 02 till June 05 , 2011 in Sarnen, Switzerland
Already the 8th International Horn Festival took place in Sarnen over Maria’s Ascension from June 02 till June 05 , 2011. Along with an offer for Horn players, a course for Alp horn blowers was offered for the first time at the eighth holding of this unique and successful occasion.
Following exellent horn players could be enlisted as lecturers again: Radovan Vlatkovic, Ab Koster, Wolfgang Gaag, Georg Sonnleitner, Hermann Baumann and Lukas Christinat.
The Horn Festival should give amatures, students, professional musicians and pupils the possibility to find out something new, to play music together and to exchange experiences at lectures, individual courses or ensemble playings. Ensemble playing courses as well as work shops with the topics :
Approach, Intonation and Articulation, will be offered for Alp horn players for the first time.
We perform also a master course for students and professional musicians as we did already during the last horn days. The participants of the course, accompanied by piano, will work out horn music with the lecturers. This master course is public and is recommended for the audience as well.
Next to these offers, there is a possibility to test and blow the instruments of different brands at the exhibition which includes eccessories, notes and CD’s. The Obwalden Horn Group would be happy to welcome as many horn players , horn „freaks“ and French- and Alp horn players as possible in Sarnen.
